"Rehabs and Detoxes have a purpose. That purpose is DISCOVERY! Alcoholics Anonymous also has a purpose. That purpose is RECOVERY!"
Rehabs and Detoxes are NOT AA and AA is NOT a rehab or a detox.
The answers are in the damn book! And if you don't like me because I got it from the book? Guess who's problem that is?

ReplyDeleteYou might want to just reflect for a moment on the fact that many alcoholics in Africa are illiterate and so the BB isn't going to get them sober. We pass on our experience, strength and hope as best we can.
I'm not so sure louisey... :) It would be my hope that the literate folks would pass on what was in the book and then it would still be the Big Book.
ReplyDeleteMC, my dear friend... please don't let one anonymous comment ruin your moment. We are allowed to be ourselves today through the freedom of the gift of sobriety. That's what you did - be yourself in that post. Anonymous is entitled to their opinion. Obviously that doesn't make that opinion right, but they are still entitled to it.
